Welcome to Wessington Primary School!
On behalf of all the staff at Wessington Primary School I would like to offer you a very warm welcome via our school website.
We are a small village school which brings a range of advantages:
- we know our children individually;
- we encourage a caring family atmosphere;
- we nurture confident children who have high self-esteem, ready to face new situations and challenges;
- we are determined to support our children to achieve their full potential, enjoying and thriving in a vibrant and supportive learning environment.
Here at Wessington Primary, we are determined that every child is recognised as an individual, to be happy and confident. We design our curriculum to provide the best learning opportunities for every child to achieve their full potential.
We organise our children into mixed ability classes for English and mathematics lessons during the morning:
Butterfly Class - Nursery and Reception children
Fish Class - Year 1 and 2 children
Stick Inset Class - Year 3 and 4 children
Snail Class - Year 5 and 6 children
During the afternoon, the children are organised into slightly different groups for lessons including History, Geography, Science, RE, PE, Computing and Forest Schools!
The children, parents, Governors and staff are all very proud of our school community. The school benefits enormously from parental, family and community involvement in all areas of learning: the classroom, the outdoor learning environment and educational visits, to provide an extremely enriching curriculum.
We extend a warm invitation to you, to visit our school in person and hope that this site gives you a flavour of our school.
